Product Description:
This is new aftermarket reproduction 1/2" hood insulation for a 1982-92 Camaro. It does come rolled up unlike the factory GM hood insulation which could not be rolled and has been discontinued. It will unroll to it's natural state. It is thicker than the factory original.

After inspecting the new under-hood insulating pad, I was very impressed with its quality, look, and feel. The fact that the pad opened flat without creases after being cooped up in the shipping box was not lost on me. That the pad also featured pre-punched holes for the hood insulation pins indicated that someone was paying quite close attention to the details. I too like other customers ordered a set of hood insulation pins in case I break off the originals when it comes time to install the new pad. I was also surprised how quickly the new pad was delivered after I placed the order. Nice job all around, Hawks!
i was very happy with new aftermarket reproduction 1/2" hood insulation for a 1982-92 Camaro.. Fits perfect and had all the holes pre set for super easy installation and it looks GREAT! Bought the pins but did not need them i didn't break any taking the originals out.
Fits great. Looks great and finishes off the underhood area. Way easier than painting the underside of the hood. Mine looks better than the pictures. I had a friend help hold it up in place so we did not let it crease when installing. I needed 19 fasteners. Be sure to order extras as two broke while installing. BTW the aftermarket fasteners have a smaller diameter head than the GM originals.
When you open the bag it came in, you better ready to put it on, it just pop's open. It lays out frat with no wrinkles.Nice and easy.
I installed this yesterday after hawks shipped this to me, ( they send me this on thursday and it arrived tuesday. Not bad for overseas shipping btw ) anyway,...I installed on my camaro....Install was under 10 minutes... withouth the insulation my hood temp would rise to temperatures that you could barely keep your hand on the hood after a drive. after install I tested it out with some good runs... afterwards, the hood itself still feld cool. this is in 80 degrees wheater....in the sun. so yes,...this is a good product and does what it needs to.
