Hawks Motorsports now offers our clients the rear newly tooled 1970 – 1973 Front upper headliner filler trim strip. This newly tooled reproduction has the correct feel, texture and sizing. This installs on the rear window upper tack strip where the tack stirp meets the inner rear glass. This covers any exposed area of the tack strip and the headliner material as it wraps the tack strip. This comes black in color and can be redye using the SEM color coat products we offer as well in our paints and dyes section. Fits all 70, 1970, 71, 1971, 72, 1972, 73, and 1973 Firebird models with Bow Style Headliners.
Why Replace the Tack Strip Fill Out Trims? 50 years have gone by and these front and rear headliner metal trims are prone to show their age, rust, rot damage and decay will prevent these from holding the material securely in place and in tur the headliner droops and looks well like crud! The Rubber Trim Inserts suffer the same slow death, so when replacing your headliner these fill out strips for the rear headliner tack strips are a must have!
HOW HARD IS IT TO REPLACE? Replacement of the upper tack strips should be done when replacing your bow headliner. You can however do these at home without a headliner change out. In that case it is a 30-minute start to finish job at home.
