WHY REPLACE THESE OUTER DOOR HANDLE CONNECTING RODS?
When you open your door on your second-generation F-body and well, simply put nothing happens,“Houston We have a Problem” This is most likely the result of this rod failing or missing. This connects to outside door handle to the inner door mounted door latch assembly. “No worries we have your back”. The connecting rod we offer includes the connection clip.
HOW HARD IS IT TO REPLACE? Replacement of the exterior handle connecting rod requires you remove the door panel to access the area. Once removed the new connecting rod will slip onto the door latch mechanism retainer loop. The exterior door handle may need to be loosened to be able to slip the clip side through the retainer clip. This takes roughly 30 – 45 minutes per door. Skill level is 4 out of 10, general knowledge of how to remove the door panel is required.
