Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this Metro Molded Parts complete basic weather seal kit RKB-2001-105. Now is the time to eliminate wind noise and water leaks on your 1970 - 1981 Camaro Firebird or Trans Am. This kit includes the following seals, (RR-2007 Roof Rail seals, LM-22-B Door Hull seals, and a TK-46-10 Trunk seal). These are the primary weather strips found these cars and the most important. We do offer a wide variety of secondary seals as well though!
WHY REPLACE WEATHER SEALS? When your car’s weather-stripping is missing or damaged water can and will enter the cabin floor pan, trunk pan, or inner door frames. Over time this will cause rust and then rot. When they go bad you will have additional wind noise and issues maintaining climate control inside the cabin.
HOW HARD IS IT TO REPLACE? Replacement of the basic weather stripping on your car is an afternoon job. Simple tools needed include, phillips head screwdriver, trim clip remover, small scraper, standard socket set. Process to change out is straight forward, remove the old seals, clean out the weather seal retainer channels, and then lay in the new weather seals into the channels and apply the adhesive. For the door frame gaskets, body hull gaskets, and trunk seal expect to spend 2.5 – 5 hours.

Installation Time and Skill Level:

- Skill level 5 - Most folks can do at home. Some mechanical understanding required door panel removal if window is out of adjustment.
