1981 was the final year for the second generation Trans Am. GM produced a different decal kit exclusively for the 1981 vehicles. The bird is 1" wider and ½" taller than the previous style. Turbo Trans Am Special Editions with decals in 1981 sported this "new" hood bird treatment in a "hollow" two-color design and hood mounted flame.
Note this kit is for Turbo hood equipped models, with factory 4.9 Litre 301 Turbo Cars
Hawks Motorsports is proud to offer our clients this 1981 SE "Ultimate" kit. This is the most extensive kit on the market and includes all pin stripes in pre-molded individually stamped decals. This makes our kit produced by Phoenix Graphix, and a GM authorized Reproduction the best as per fit and appearance.
The Ultimate Kit makes install a breeze as the pinstripes and accurate and cut so you do not have to attempt to replicate the curves and corners as you would if using the standard kit which comes with a roll of pin stripe instead.
In 1981 The Special Edition models came in either a lighter gold 2 tone or a dark deeper gold in tone tone. We ship the darker version be default. If you have an early year lighter gold kit please call in or note it with your order.
