1982–1992 Camaro & Firebird Big Brake Upgrade Kit – Gen 5 Camaro SS/ZL1 Brakes (4-Piston & 6-Piston Options)
Step up your braking performance with this Hawks Motorsports Big Brake Upgrade Kit featuring Gen 5 Camaro SS and ZL1 calipers and rotors. Designed to work with our proprietary spindle system, this upgrade brings serious stopping power to your 1982–1992 Camaro or Firebird using late-model OEM GM components.
The Gen 5 Camaro SS system features large 4-piston calipers and 14" rotors, while the ZL1 version adds massive 6-piston calipers and 14.6" two-piece rotors for ultimate braking performance. Both setups offer exceptional thermal capacity, improved pedal feel, and a modern look — perfect for pro-touring builds, aggressive street cars, or track-day warriors.
These rotors use a 67.5mm center bore and 5x120mm bolt pattern from the factory. For third-gen compatibility, we recommend pairing this kit with C6 or C7 Corvette front hubs to retain the stock 5x120.65 bolt pattern with M12 studs.
Please note: If you use the Corvette hubs you will need to have the rotors center bore opened up to clear the 70.6mm hubs. If you choose to run Gen 6 Camaro hubs for a direct rotor fit, note that the hub bore and wheel bolt pattern will differ, and the studs will be M14.
These spindles do lower the front ride height .900".
