Inspired by the rare and discontinued SLP Bowtie grille, this reproduction features the recognizable center bar and Bowtie emblem mounting area associated with original SLP part number 11058. The design delivers an SS-inspired appearance while fitting compatible Camaro SS, Z28 and V6 models.
The grille is injection-molded from automotive-grade ABS plastic and finished in gloss black. It includes eight grille-retainer pins and is supplied without pre-drilled attachment holes so it can be aligned with the individual front fascia before drilling.
A compatible Bowtie emblem can be added through the product options. The emblem is not included by default and does not arrive installed on the grille.

SLP-Style Bowtie Design
The original SLP Bowtie grille was an appearance option associated with the 1998-2002 Camaro SS. Its distinctive center bar and Bowtie emblem position gave the fourth-generation Camaro a cleaner, more aggressive front-end appearance than the standard grille.
This reproduction is inspired by discontinued SLP part number 11058. It is not a used or New Old Stock SLP component.
The grille can be used to:
- Replace a damaged or missing SLP-style grille
- Restore an SS with a similar original-style appearance
- Add an SS-inspired front-end treatment to a Z28
- Upgrade the appearance of a V6 Camaro
- Complete an SS-style exterior conversion
- Provide a gloss black contrast against the vehicle’s body color
Gloss Black Finish
The grille is supplied with a gloss black finish that can be installed as a contrasting exterior accent when its as-delivered appearance meets the requirements of the build.
Inspect the entire grille before installation. If a different finish or body-color treatment is desired, consult a professional automotive refinisher regarding surface preparation and products compatible with ABS plastic.
Minor differences between the grille’s gloss level and surrounding painted or molded components can occur.
Automotive-Grade ABS Construction
Injection-molded ABS plastic provides a combination of strength, controlled flexibility and consistent exterior contours.
Compared with a hand-laid fiberglass grille, molded ABS generally requires different preparation and repair procedures. Use only cleaners, primers, paints and repair products identified as compatible with automotive ABS plastic.
Avoid excessive bending, localized heat and aggressive solvents.
Optional Bowtie Emblem
The center mounting area is designed to accept the compatible Bowtie emblem offered under part number HT10166783.
The emblem is not automatically included. Select the desired emblem option before adding the grille to the cart when the complete grille-and-emblem combination is required.
An emblem ordered with the grille:

Undrilled Attachment Locations
The grille is intentionally supplied without pre-drilled attachment holes. Original SLP grilles were hand-fitted, and hole positions can vary between vehicles and previously installed components.
The undrilled design allows the installer to align the reproduction with:
- Existing holes in an applicable SS front fascia
- The contours of a Z28 front fascia
- The contours of a V6 front fascia
- The grille opening’s left-to-right centerline
- The surrounding bumper and nose-panel surfaces
Do not use another loose grille as the only drilling template. The vehicle’s actual fascia and final grille position should control the hole locations.
SS, Z28 and V6 Installation Differences
The outer grille shape is intended for all 1998-2002 Camaro models, but the attachment process can differ.
An SS retaining an original SLP-style grille may already have applicable holes in the front fascia. A Z28 or V6 conversion may require new holes to be measured and drilled.
Previous collision repairs, bumper replacement, repainting or aftermarket bodywork can also change alignment. Every grille should be test-fitted to the individual vehicle.
Installation Information
Before drilling:
- Inspect the grille for shipping damage
- Remove the existing grille carefully
- Clean the front fascia and grille opening
- Inspect the bumper for distortion or previous repairs
- Center the new grille in the opening
- Check the gap along the top, bottom and both ends
- Temporarily support the grille in its final position
- Compare any existing attachment holes
- Mark one attachment location at a time
- Recheck alignment after every mark
- Confirm clearance behind each drilling location
- Drill only after the complete position has been verified
- Remove plastic debris from the grille and fascia
- Install the eight supplied retainer pins
- Verify that the grille is secure and evenly seated
If an emblem is being added, complete the grille alignment and test-fitting process before permanently positioning the emblem.
Professional installation is recommended when the installer is not experienced with exterior trim alignment or drilling painted ABS bumper components.
Reproduction Information
This is a newly manufactured Hawks Restoration Parts reproduction inspired by the discontinued SLP Bowtie grille.
