This complete T56 transmission conversion package is designed to convert an automatic-equipped 1982-1992 third-generation Camaro or Firebird to a 6-speed manual transmission using a 1993-1997-style T56 transmission. The kit combines new and used components to provide the major parts needed to complete the conversion.

If you've got a third-gen F-body that's still rowing through an automatic, this is the kind of swap that changes the whole personality of the car. Six gears, a real clutch pedal, and that mechanical connection between you and the drivetrain make these cars a completely different animal. This package is built around the proven 93-97-style T56 and brings the transmission, controls, pedals, hydraulics, shifter, crossmember and supporting hardware together in one conversion package.

The kit is intended for SBC, LT1 or BBC engines when using the supplied used 93-97-style T56 transmission. Hawks Motorsports supplies several of the conversion components used, while the transmission, bellhousing, clutch/flywheel, hydraulics, shifter and several other components are used. Hawks recommends replacing the used clutch/flywheel and hydraulic components with new parts as appropriate for the customer's build.

Hawks Motorsports recommends replacing the used clutch/flywheel and hydraulic components with new parts as appropriate for the customer's build.
