These rows identify original LS1 F-body donor applications; they do not establish interchange between every year or model. Compare the donor VIN, engine controls, connectors, sensors, accessories, oil pan and actual transmission. Camaro SS, WS6 and Firehawk packages can carry different ratings and equipment. Corvette, GTO and overseas LS1 donors are outside this F-body specification reference.

LS1 Overview The 1998–2002 GM LS1 5.7L V8 gives Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts a compact pushrod engine with an aluminum block and cylinder heads, sequential port fuel injection, and a broad foundation for street-performance upgrades. Its low-mass construction and efficient intake design make it a useful choice for replacement-engine projects and planned performance builds.
For a classic-car conversion, the LS1 brings electronically managed fuel delivery and modern V8 performance to an older vehicle. A properly matched fuel system, controller, harness and calibration can support consistent starting and throttle response. Plan mounts, oil-pan and exhaust clearance, cooling, accessories, throttle linkage and the supplied transmission around the actual vehicle. Contact Hawks Motorsports for available drivetrain components and supporting parts for your build.

Match the controller, harness and calibration to the actual LS1 donor year and supplied transmission. Plan an EFI-compatible fuel system, cable-operated throttle linkage for the original F-body configuration, cooling and steam-vent plumbing, engine mounts, oil-pan clearance, accessories and exhaust. Confirm sensor and connector compatibility rather than assuming every LS1 donor is identical. Verify transmission clearance, crossmember and driveshaft requirements, and the applicable clutch or torque-converter arrangement. These installation considerations do not describe testing performed on this inventory unit.

The original donor application does not establish direct fitment in another car.
Can I order a new harness for this donor and transmission?
The original GM harness is NOT INCLUDED under the package policy. Ask sales about available new harnesses matched to the actual engine year, controller and transmission. Additional charges apply; option availability must be confirmed for this package.
Are the stock power figures a dyno result for this engine?
No. The figures are historical factory reference ratings for standard Camaro Z28 applications, not measured output of this used engine. Special donor packages, modifications and condition can change output. Contact Hawks for available used GM parts, performance upgrades and tuning services.
