This PerfectFit™ transmission conversion kit upgrades classic Mopar A-Body vehicles with modern five-speed overdrive performance, improved highway drivability, and increased strength for street and performance applications.

Designed for 1967-1976 Mopar A-Body vehicles including Dodge Dart, Plymouth Valiant, Plymouth Barracuda, Plymouth Duster, and Plymouth Scamp applications, this TREMEC TKX 5-Speed kit provides a modern manual transmission upgrade while maintaining the classic driving experience of these iconic Mopar platforms.
This kit is designed for conversion from existing 3-speed or 4-speed manual transmission applications. The compact TREMEC TKX transmission offers improved strength, smoother shifting, and modern overdrive capability while fitting classic Mopar A-Body chassis.
The TREMEC TKX 5-Speed is rated for up to 600 lb-ft of torque and capable of 7,500 RPM shifts, making it an excellent choice for street-driven muscle cars, restomods, and performance builds. The compact rounded case design helps reduce installation clearance concerns while providing exceptional durability.
The TKX features available wide ratio and close ratio gear sets. Wide ratio gearing includes 3.27, 1.98, 1.34, 1.00, and 0.72. Close ratio gearing includes 2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.00, and either 0.68 or 0.81 overdrive.
The complete PerfectFit™ kit includes the TREMEC TKX 5-Speed overdrive transmission, pilot bearing, installation hardware, isolator mount, reverse light connector, speedometer connection, tunnel hump sheet metal and template, crossmember, custom driveshaft and slip yoke, and detailed installation instructions.
Optional components are available for automatic-to-manual conversions, including clutch systems, hydraulic clutch components, pedals, bellhousing options, shifter components, and additional drivetrain upgrades.
