Product Description:
Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1970–1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Driver Side LH Full Rear Quarter Panel Steel 153083.
This driver-side (LH) full rear quarter panel is designed for 1970–1973 Pontiac Firebird and Trans Am models. It replaces the entire outer left-hand rear quarter section, restoring correct factory body lines, wheel opening contours, and the transition into the rear tail panel on vehicles with rust, collision damage, or previous improper repairs.
Early second-generation Firebirds (1970–1973) feature unique quarter panel geometry that is not shared with later models. This panel is manufactured to match those early contours, ensuring proper alignment with the door, trunk lid, rear tail panel, and rear bumper.

Highlights
1970–1973 Firebird quarter panels are year-range specific and not interchangeable with later models
- Proper installation directly affects:
- Door alignment
- Rear body symmetry
- Overall vehicle appearance
- Full quarter panels are the correct solution when:
- Rust extends beyond lower sections
- Structural integrity is compromised
Why This Panel Matters
This panel defines the entire side profile of the car. If the quarter panel is off:
- Door gaps will be incorrect
- Rear body lines won’t align
- The vehicle will visually look “off” from any angle
Getting this panel right is essential for a proper restoration.
