Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1970-1981 Camaro Dakota Digital VHX Instrument System - VHX-70C-CAM for upgrading the factory gauge area in second generation Camaro models with a direct-fit, full-function instrument system that keeps a classic appearance while adding modern electronic gauge technology.
This Dakota Digital VHX system is designed for 1970-1981 Camaro models and installs using a stock or reproduction dash bezel, which is available separately. The system combines analog-style gauges with fully lit needles, backlit faces, and LCD message centers for a clean restomod gauge package that does not make the dash look like a spaceship cockpit crash-landed in 1974.
The VHX system includes modern readings for speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure, water temperature, fuel level, and voltage, along with digital message center functions such as odometer, trip meters, clock, performance timers, high speed recall, and high RPM recall. Built-in indicators support common functions such as turn signals, high beam, check engine, parking brake, cruise control, and optional gear position display when properly equipped.
This is a strong upgrade for Camaro owners building a restored driver, pro-touring car, LS swap, EFI conversion, restomod, or custom interior while still wanting a gauge package that works with the original dash layout.

- Verify gauge option, face style, lighting color, dash bezel type, wiring condition, engine setup, transmission setup, speed signal source, fuel sender resistance, and indicator wiring before ordering.
- Some optional functions may require additional Dakota Digital modules or sensors.
- Not all original factory indicator lamp functions may be replaced by the new instrument system.
- Professional installation is recommended for vehicles with modified wiring, EFI swaps, LS swaps, aftermarket transmissions, or custom dash wiring
