This new reproduction fan-shroud fastener kit is designed for compatible 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird and Trans Am cooling systems.
The kit supplies six screws and six matching U-nut clips for securing the applicable upper and lower fan-shroud sections. It replaces missing, rusted, damaged, stripped or mismatched original fasteners while restoring a cleaner and more consistent engine-compartment appearance.
Although this product is commonly described as a “set of six,” it contains six complete screw-and-clip fastening sets for a total of 12 individual components.

Why Replace the U-Nut Clips?
Original U-nut clips can become rusted, bent, stripped or weakened after repeated fan-shroud removal. A damaged clip may fail to hold the screw correctly or may turn during installation.

Installation Information
Before installation:
- Allow the engine and cooling system to cool completely
- Disconnect the vehicle battery when working near an electric cooling fan
- Remove the original fan-shroud sections carefully
- Record the location of each original fastener
- Compare the replacement screws and clips with the originals
- Inspect every U-nut mounting edge
- Check the shroud attachment openings for cracks
- Slide each U-nut clip squarely over its mounting edge
- Align the shroud before starting the screws
- Start every screw by hand
- Tighten only until the shroud is secure
- Confirm clearance between the shroud and fan blades
- Verify that the cooling fan rotates without contacting the shroud
- Recheck the complete installation before operating the vehicle
Electric cooling fans can activate unexpectedly. Keep hands, clothing and tools away from the fan blades whenever the electrical system is connected.
Do not overtighten the screws. Excessive force can strip the U-nut clips or crack an aged plastic fan shroud.
