Product Description:
This new reproduction windshield-washer fluid level sensor is designed for compatible 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird models equipped with the applicable digital instrument cluster and factory low-washer-fluid warning system.
The sensor installs in the compatible windshield-washer fluid reservoir and monitors the fluid level. When the fluid falls below the system's operating point, the sensor activates the corresponding low-fluid warning circuit to alert the driver that the reservoir should be refilled.
It replaces a failed, damaged, leaking or missing original sensor while restoring an important convenience feature on properly equipped third-generation F-Body models. The application references original GM number 10034239.

Digital dash with low-fluid warning |
Digital instrumentation, warning-system equipment and washer-reservoir designs varied by model year and trim level. This sensor should not be selected solely by model year. Confirm that the vehicle has the compatible digital dash, low-washer-fluid indicator, reservoir opening and electrical connector before ordering.

- One reproduction washer-fluid level sensor
- Application-specific reservoir installation
- Factory-style electrical-connector application
- Low-washer-fluid warning-system function
- New reproduction construction
The washer-fluid reservoir, washer pump, hoses, wiring harness, instrument cluster and washer fluid are not included.

Low-Washer-Fluid Monitoring
The sensor monitors the amount of washer fluid inside the compatible reservoir. When the level becomes low, the sensor changes the warning circuit's state so the applicable digital instrument display can alert the driver.
The sensor does not measure washer-fluid quality, control the washer pump or dispense fluid onto the windshield.
Digital-Dash Application
This part is intended for vehicles equipped with the compatible digital instrument system and low-washer-fluid indicator. A vehicle without that warning circuit may not have the correct reservoir provision or electrical connection.
Common Failure Symptoms
- Low-washer-fluid warning remains on after the reservoir is filled
- Warning does not activate when the reservoir is low
- Intermittent washer-fluid warning
- Visible damage to the sensor body or connector
- Washer fluid leaking around the sensor location
These symptoms can also be caused by damaged wiring, a poor electrical connection, reservoir damage or an instrument-cluster fault. Inspect the complete warning circuit before replacing parts.
Sensor Versus Washer Pump
The washer-fluid level sensor and washer pump perform different functions. The sensor monitors fluid level for the warning system, while the pump moves fluid through the washer hoses and nozzles. Replacing this sensor will not repair a pump that does not operate.
Original GM Reference
HM10034239 references original GM number 10034239, which was cataloged as a windshield-washer solvent-level switch or sensor. This product is newly manufactured and is not an original GM or New Old Stock component.
Important Application Notes
- For compatible 1982-1992 Camaro and Firebird applications
- Vehicle must have the applicable digital dash and low-fluid warning system
- Installs in the compatible windshield-washer reservoir
- Connects to the applicable factory-style warning-system circuit
- Does not control washer-pump operation
- Sold individually
- References original GM number 10034239
- Compare the reservoir opening, connector and original sensor before ordering

- Park the vehicle on a level surface and switch off the ignition.
- Allow the vehicle's electrical systems to power down.
- Locate the washer-fluid reservoir and inspect the existing sensor position.
- Document the sensor orientation and electrical-connector routing.
- Drain the washer fluid to a level below the sensor opening.
- Disconnect the electrical connector without pulling on the wires.
- Remove the original sensor carefully to avoid damaging the reservoir.
- Inspect the reservoir opening for cracks, distortion or contamination.
- Compare the reproduction sensor with the original component.
- Install the sensor in the correct position and reconnect the warning circuit.
- Refill the reservoir with the correct windshield-washer fluid.
- Check for leaks and verify warning-system operation.
Do not force the sensor into an incompatible reservoir opening. A cracked or distorted washer reservoir must be repaired or replaced before the system is returned to service.

What is included?
The package contains one reproduction washer-fluid level sensor.
What years does it fit?
It is designed for compatible 1982 through 1992 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird applications equipped with the required warning system.
Does every 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird use this sensor?
No. The vehicle must have the compatible digital dash, low-washer-fluid warning circuit, washer reservoir and electrical connection.
Does it fit Pontiac Formula and Trans Am models?
It fits properly equipped Formula and Trans Am applications that use the compatible digital warning system and washer reservoir.
Where does the sensor install?
It installs in the applicable windshield-washer fluid reservoir.
What does the sensor do?
It monitors the fluid level and activates the applicable warning circuit when the washer-fluid supply becomes low.
Will this repair washer nozzles that do not spray?
No. No-spray concerns are commonly related to the washer pump, hoses, nozzles, wiring or switch rather than the fluid-level sensor.
Will it turn off a false low-fluid warning?
It can correct a warning caused by a failed sensor. The connector, wiring, reservoir and instrument circuit should also be inspected.
Is the washer-fluid reservoir included?
No. This listing includes the fluid-level sensor only.
Is this an original GM sensor?
No. It is a newly manufactured Hawks Restoration Parts reproduction.
What original GM number does it reference?
The reproduction references original GM number 10034239.
