Product Description:
Hawks Motorsports is pleased to offer our clients the following.
This new reproduction center-console heater control and radio trim bezel is designed for 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro models. It replaces a cracked, scratched, burned, modified or missing original faceplate surrounding the factory HVAC controls and radio opening.
The bezel is reproduced from the original 1982-1989 Camaro design and features the correct-style grain pattern and factory-shaped openings. It also physically fits 1990-1992 Camaro models, although the opening corners differ slightly from the original later-style bezel.
This listing includes:
- One center-console radio and heater-control trim bezel
- Black molded-plastic construction
- Factory-style grain pattern
- Original-style radio opening
- Factory HVAC-control opening
- 1982-1989-style opening contours
- Replacement reference for GM part number 14023030
Radio and Heater-Control Bezel
CON-280 installs at the front of the Camaro center console and forms the finished trim surface around the radio and heating and air-conditioning controls.
This part is also commonly described as the:
- Radio trim plate
- Radio faceplate
- Heater-control bezel
- Center-console dash bezel
- Radio and HVAC trim bezel
- Console radio surround
- Center stack trim plate
It is not a complete center console or aftermarket radio installation kit.
1982-1989 Design
The reproduction is patterned after the 1982-1989 Camaro radio trim bezel.
Original 1982-1989 bezels use straight or angled opening corners. The reproduction follows this earlier design and provides the most visually accurate application for those model years.
1990-1992 Application
CON-280 also physically fits 1990-1992 Camaro center consoles.
Original 1990-1992 bezels use slightly rounded opening corners, while this reproduction retains the straight or angled 1982-1989-style corners. This difference is cosmetic and should be considered when restoring a 1990-1992 Camaro to exact factory appearance.
| Model-year range | Physical fit | Appearance |
|---|---|---|
| 1982-1989 Camaro | Yes | Correct earlier-style opening contours |
| 1990-1992 Camaro | Yes | Earlier-style straight or angled corners replace later rounded corners |
Factory-Style Radio Opening
This bezel is intended for the original-style Camaro radio location. It does not convert the dash for a Double-DIN touchscreen receiver.
Radio compatibility depends on the radio body, faceplate and installation arrangement. A modern aftermarket receiver may require a separate dash installation kit or modification to the radio opening.
Do not cut or modify the reproduction until the radio and HVAC components have been test-fitted.
