HushMat Ultra combines sound and vibration damping with thermal insulation in a single lightweight, flexible material. Its self-adhesive peel-and-stick design allows the material to conform around the curves, contours, floor pans, transmission tunnel, doors, roof, firewall, and other interior surfaces found throughout the Third and Fourth Generation GM F-body.
HushMat Ultra uses an aluminum foil constraining layer combined with a specially formulated viscoelastic polymer layer. The material is designed to damp structural vibration while helping reduce thermal transfer into the passenger compartment.
The material is less than 1/8-inch thick and weighs less than 1/2 pound per square foot, allowing substantial areas of the vehicle to be treated without adding excessive thickness beneath carpet, interior trim, or other components.
Installation is straightforward. HushMat Ultra features a pressure-sensitive self-adhesive backing, so separate spray adhesive or glue is not required. The flexible material can be trimmed using ordinary scissors or a razor knife and formed around the irregular contours of the F-body interior.
