Camaro/Firebird Reinforced Motor Housing for 1986-91 F-Body Hatch Pull-Down Unit

TDS reinforces new GM motor housings with 4 pieces of aluminum and epoxy where they commonly fail (where the 3 screws mount it to the frame). This motor housing only fits the old style motor, which secures into a slot on the motor housing. If your plastic motor housing is attached with 2 screws to the motor, then you'll need to order the new-style motor and integral motor housing (our p/n 1710001).

Buick: 1980-93 Electra, 1985-93 Park Avenue, 1980-93 Riviera, 1992-96 Roadmaster

Cadillac: 1987-93 Allante, 1980-96 Brougham, 1980-93 Eldorado, 1980-96 Fleetwood Sedan, 1985-93 Fleetwood, 1980-83 Fleetwood, 1980-93 Seville

Chevrolet (Chevy): 1986-91 Camaro, Z28, IROC-Z, LT, Sport Coupe, RS, Berlinetta

Part has solved my problem . Internal gear was very tight on shaft which needed to be loosened up to enable mechanism to function properly .

Impressed with the motor housing, GM should have done this the first time. I will probably outlast the car! Perfect fit.

Very Good Replacement Part

I thought I was out of luck when I discovered the P.O. (previous owner) had tried to repair the latch with a shoe lace! This part was a direct fit and looks like it will last another 30 years. Do yourself a favor and order the nylon guides with it. I didn't and discovered they were shot when I took it a part.

This part is so much better than the original. I had to take it apart a few times to get the motor gears put in correctly and it held up real good.
