Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1987-1990 Camaro Firebird Rear Hatch 3rd Brake Light Contact Body Side Used 8790BLCBODY for repairing the body-side electrical contact point used with the rear hatch-mounted third brake light system. This is a good used replacement part intended for vehicles where the original body-side contact is missing, worn, damaged, corroded, or no longer making proper connection with the hatch-side contact.
On 1987-1990 Camaro and Firebird models, the rear hatch third brake light system uses contact points to transfer power when the hatch is closed. Over time, these contacts can become dirty, worn, loose, bent, or damaged, causing intermittent or non-working third brake light operation. Replacing the failed contact can help restore proper CHMSL function without replacing the complete rear hatch brake light assembly.
