Product Description:
This new reproduction rear window defrost switch is designed for 1990-1992 Pontiac Firebird models equipped with the factory rear window defrost.
It replaces a faded, broken or non-functioning dash switch while restoring the gray button, white factory-style defrost icon and plug-in fit used in the original location above the radio.

Factory Switch-Bank Appearance
The switch installs in the original accessory-switch area above the radio and visually coordinates with the matching defrost, fog-light and trunk-release switches.

Confirm the vehicle was equipped with the factory rear window defrost. This switch does not add the controlled system to a car that lacks the related wiring and components.
Circuit Diagnosis
A new switch will not correct failed wiring, a blown fuse, damaged connectors or a fault elsewhere in the circuit. Diagnose those conditions separately.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable before servicing the electrical system.
- Photograph the original component, connector routing and installed orientation.
- Release the factory connector by its lock; do not pull on the wires.
- Compare the replacement terminals, indexing features and mounting points with the original.
- Inspect the vehicle connector and related circuit for heat damage, corrosion or loose terminals.
- Connect the replacement until the lock is fully engaged and seat it in the factory location.
- Reconnect the battery and test every related function before reinstalling surrounding trim.
- If operation is incorrect, diagnose the circuit with the proper factory wiring information.
