This new reproduction hatch-release switch is designed to replace the original interior release switch in compatible 1993-2002 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird models.
Its factory-style appearance and connection restore the driver-operated electrical command for the rear hatch when the original button is worn, damaged or intermittent.

Hatch latch, release solenoid, wiring, fuse, relay and interior trim are not included.
Restores the Interior Command
The switch supplies the driver input to the existing release circuit; it does not mechanically lift or unlatch the hatch by itself.
Circuit Diagnosis Still Matters
A failed solenoid, damaged wiring, poor ground or latch problem can produce the same symptom as a bad switch. Test the system before ordering.
Factory-Style Replacement
The reproduction is intended to match the original 1993-2002 Camaro and Firebird switch rather than serve as a universal aftermarket button.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable before servicing the electrical component.
- Photograph the original connector, routing and installed orientation.
- Release the connector by its locking feature rather than pulling on the wires.
- Compare the replacement terminal layout and locating features with the original.
- Inspect the vehicle connector for corrosion, heat damage or loose terminals.
- Install the replacement and reconnect the plug until its lock is fully engaged.
- Reconnect the battery and test the complete function before reinstalling surrounding trim.
