This complete reproduction Ram Air air-box package is designed for 1998-2002 Pontiac Firebird Formula and Trans Am models equipped with the WS6-style Ram Air hood.
The package combines the raised-opening lower housing, a new S&B filter, a Hawks smooth upper lid and matching OEM-style decals to rebuild the core underhood intake assembly as a coordinated system.

Designed Around the Ram Air Hood
The raised lower-housing opening is intended to mate with the 1998-2002 WS6-style hood path. A standard hood does not provide the same interface.
Coordinated Intake Package
Lower housing, filter, smooth lid and decals are grouped to reduce the uncertainty of sourcing the main air-box pieces individually.
Confirm the Entire Air Path
Inspect hood duct seals, adjoining couplers and the MAF connection. A complete-looking air box cannot compensate for missing or misaligned upstream and downstream components.
- Allow the engine to cool and disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Photograph the existing intake layout and connector routing before disassembly.
- Remove the current air-lid or air-box component without prying against the mass-airflow sensor or molded lower housing.
- Compare the replacement with the original and confirm every inlet, outlet and locating feature.
- Clean the sealing surfaces and inspect the filter, couplers and adjoining ductwork for damage.
- Install the component squarely so the intake path is not twisted or placed under preload.
- Reconnect all factory hoses, sensor connections and retained clips required by the vehicle configuration.
- Reconnect the battery, start the engine and inspect for unmetered-air leaks, interference or warning lights.
What vehicles does this package fit?
Compatible 1998-2002 Firebird Formula and Trans Am models using the WS6-style Ram Air hood.
Is the Ram Air hood included?
No. The vehicle must already have the compatible hood configuration.
