These rows identify original LS3 Camaro SS applications. They do not establish interchange between donor years or direct fitment in an older Camaro, Firebird, or Trans Am. F-body installations are conversion projects requiring matching components and clearance checks. Factory automatic Camaro SS donors in this year range used the L99 engine; verify the actual engine identity.

These are factory Camaro SS LS3 ratings, not a Dyno measurement of this used engine. Donor condition, modifications, controls, intake, and exhaust can affect output.

LS3 Overview The Camaro LS3 6.2L V8 combines naturally aspirated small-block power with electronic port fuel injection. Its aluminum block and cylinder heads reduce engine weight, while its compact push-rod layout and 376-cu.-in. displacement provide a capable foundation for cruising and performance builds. Electronic throttle control and a compatible engine-management system support consistent fuel delivery and drivability.

For an older Camaro, Firebird, Trans Am, or another classic-car conversion, the LS3 offers modern V8 power and electronically managed operation. A properly matched fuel system, harness, controller, electronic throttle pedal, cooling system, and transmission can support consistent starting and responsive driving. Mounts, oil-pan clearance, exhaust routing, accessory placement, and drive-line alignment must be planned for the actual vehicle. Match the wiring harness, engine controller, electronic throttle pedal, and calibration to the exact engine and transmission. Provide an EFI fuel system sized and regulated to the control-system requirements. Verify engine mounts, oil-pan and steering clearance, accessory placement, exhaust routing, and cooling connections. For a drivetrain conversion, confirm tunnel clearance, cross-member location, driveshaft connection, and the appropriate clutch or torque-converter arrangement for the supplied transmission.

Our current lead time for engine and drivetrain shipments is 2–3 weeks due to company size and sales volume. The package ships by truck freight in a custom-built crate. Which transmission and drivetrain components are supplied?

This package includes the LS3 engine and the transmission identified in the Key Features table. Clutch, shifter, flywheel, converter, brackets, and related components are supplied only when specifically listed in This Product Includes.

Can I use this LS3 in an older F-body Camaro, Firebird, or Trans Am?

An LS3 can be used in a properly planned conversion. Match the mounting, oil pan, fuel system, engine controls, electronic throttle, cooling, exhaust, and drivetrain to your vehicle. Contact our sales team about the components available for your specific build.

Is the original GM wiring harness supplied, and can I order a new harness?

The original GM wiring harness is not included under this package policy. Ask our sales team about available new harness options matched to the engine, controller, and intended transmission. Additional charges apply.
