Product Description:

Hawks Motorsports is pleased to offer our clients the following.

This ashtray-mount switch panel is designed for 1983-1992 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird applications. It places four commonly used nitrous-system controls within convenient reach while providing a clean, integrated appearance.

The panel fits over the factory ashtray area and can control system arming, bottle-heater activation, a remote bottle opener and system purging.

Key Features

  • Producer: Nitrous Outlet
  • Fits 1983-1992 Camaro and Firebird applications
  • Ashtray-mount design
  • Water-jet-cut aluminum construction
  • Black anodized finish
  • Laser-etched control labels
  • Laser-etched Nitrous Outlet logo
  • Two illuminated LED rocker switches
  • One momentary remote-opener switch
  • One red momentary purge button
  • Four-switch configuration
  • Works with compatible nitrous systems and accessories from different brands

Switch Functions

The panel contains four dedicated controls:

  • System Arm: Illuminated rocker switch used to arm the nitrous system
  • Bottle Heater: Illuminated rocker switch used to activate a compatible bottle-heater circuit
  • Remote Opener: Momentary switch used to operate a compatible electric bottle opener
  • Purge: Red momentary push button used to activate a compatible nitrous purge system

The rocker switches provide illuminated visual identification when their respective circuits are activated.

Ashtray-Mount Design

The application-specific panel fits over the factory ashtray location, allowing the controls to be installed within the original console area.

Before installation, compare the vehicle’s ashtray opening and surrounding console components with the current product photographs. Factory trim condition, previous interior modifications and replacement consoles can affect fitment.

The factory ashtray may no longer remain usable after the switch panel is installed.

Construction and Finish

The panel is manufactured from water-jet-cut aluminum and finished in black anodizing. Laser-etched labels identify the individual switch functions and provide a finished appearance that complements a performance-oriented interior.

Anodized finishes can display minor variations in shade or texture. Clean the panel with a soft cloth and nonabrasive automotive-interior cleaner.

The manufacturer catalogs this panel for third-generation Camaro and Firebird applications with a compatible factory ashtray location.

System Compatibility

The switch panel may be used with compatible nitrous systems and accessories from Nitrous Outlet or other manufacturers. Electrical compatibility must be verified for every component connected to the panel.

This listing does not include a complete nitrous system, bottle, bottle heater, remote bottle opener, purge assembly, solenoids, controller, relays or vehicle-specific wiring harness.

Electrical Installation

Professional installation is recommended. Follow the instructions supplied with the nitrous system and every connected accessory.

Before wiring:

  • Disconnect the vehicle battery
  • Identify every switch terminal
  • Confirm the voltage and current requirements of each accessory
  • Use properly sized automotive wire
  • Protect each circuit with the appropriate fuse
  • Use relays when required by the accessory manufacturer
  • Establish secure chassis grounds
  • Route wiring away from exhaust components and moving parts
  • Protect wiring passing through metal openings
  • Confirm that no wires interfere with the shifter or parking brake
  • Test each function individually before operating the nitrous system

Do not connect a bottle heater, nitrous solenoid or other high-current component directly through a switch unless the component manufacturer specifically permits that wiring arrangement.

Final wiring depends on the nitrous system, bottle heater, remote opener, purge solenoid and controller being used.
