Product Description:

This is a new reproduction replacement Camaro or Firebird 86-91 Hatch Motor with Plastic Housing & Plastic Gear.

There was a mid-year change in 1991. If your 1991-92 pull-down assembly has a tan-colored plastic molded frame, do not order this hatch motor. IT WILL NOT WORK on later 91 and 1992 Camaro or Firebirds.

    Very durable

Posted by Eric on 27th May 2019

I bought a whole replacement kit 12 years ago from a different company and was unimpressed with the motor before I even installed it. It barely got any use and broke a couple years later. The motor Hawks provides is much stronger and more durable. My hatch operates like it did in 1989.

    Nice Sturdy Part!!

Posted by Rich on 18th Jan 2017

This part is a nice sturdy, well put together, part. It comes all lubed up and ready to go. I did have to use my old wave washer from my damaged unit though. Not sure if they just forgot to put one in when they built the one I got. Instructions are ok, I've found more detailed directions online. **NOTE** When you disassemble your old unit and remove the plate with the post that connects to the gear, count how many times you have to turn it to remove from the gear. Otherwise, you will be doing alot of trial and error trying to get it right when you close your hatch. But, great part nonetheless. I would buy again if I had to.
