Product Description:

Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this BIM-EFI-1 Bridge Module for EFI Systems, Dakota Digital, an interface designed to connect compatible aftermarket EFI systems with Dakota Digital instrument systems. The BIM-EFI-1 decodes CAN data from supported EFI ECUs and sends that information to compatible Dakota Digital gauges, helping eliminate the need to duplicate certain engine sensors and senders. The module is compatible with Dakota Digital VFD3, VHX, HDX, RTX, and GRFX gauge systems.

If you've spent the time building a clean EFI swap, the last thing you want is a dashboard full of extra senders and wiring just to get your gauges talking to the ECU. The BIM-EFI-1 gives your modern EFI setup a much cleaner path into the dash, pulling useful engine data straight from the ECU and putting it where you actually want it—on the gauges. Add the Bluetooth setup capability and over-the-air updates, and it's a slick piece of electronics for a modernized muscle car, pro-touring build, or serious EFI conversion.

Depending on the EFI system and its available data, the BIM-EFI-1 can provide up to 14 readings to the Dakota Digital instrument system. The module uses Bluetooth for setup and programming through the Dakota Digital app and can be connected to another BIM module through either of its two interface ports. The required EFI-specific CAN bus harness is not included with the BIM-EFI-1 and must be purchased separately.

Compatibility varies by EFI system and requires the appropriate Dakota Digital adapter harness.

Important: BIM modules are compatible with current RTX, HDX, VHX, VFD3, and RET control boxes using the black plastic housing. Dakota Digital states that control boxes with metal housings are not compatible with BIM modules.

INSTALLATION NOTES:

  • BIM-EFI-1 module only; EFI adapter harness is not included.
  • A corresponding CAN bus EFI harness is required for connection to the selected EFI system.
  • Select the correct harness for your specific EFI manufacturer and ECU.
  • Connect the module to a compatible Dakota Digital instrument system/control box.
  • Configure the BIM-EFI-1 using the Dakota Digital app.
  • Bluetooth is used for setup and programming.
  • Verify that the selected EFI system is supported before installation.
  • Available gauge readings vary according to the data provided by the EFI system.
  • The module can be connected to another compatible BIM module through either interface port.
  • A GPS-50-2 cannot be daisy-chained to a BIM-EFI-1 using a BIM cable.
  • Do not connect incompatible Dakota Digital control boxes to the BIM system.
  • For OEM ECUs using J1850/CAN with an OBD-II diagnostic port, Dakota Digital directs users to the BIM-01-2 instead.
  • Follow Dakota Digital's current wiring and setup instructions before powering the system.
