Designed for 1955-1957 Chevrolet Tri-Five applications, this TREMEC Magnum 6-Speed Conversion Kit provides modern manual transmission performance for Bel Air, 150, 210, and Nomad models. This kit is intended for vehicles currently equipped with a 3-speed or 4-speed manual transmission.
The TREMEC T56 Magnum 6-Speed features a double overdrive design with 700 lb-ft torque capacity, providing improved acceleration, reduced highway RPM, lower engine wear, cooler operating temperatures, and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness compared to traditional transmissions.
The available T56 Magnum gear ratios include wide ratio gearing with 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, 0.80, and 0.63, or alternate gearing with 2.97, 2.10, 1.46, 1.00, 0.80, and 0.63.
The conversion kit includes the necessary components for installation, including the TREMEC T56 Magnum 6-Speed overdrive transmission, transmission support crossmember, driveshaft and slip yoke, speedometer connection, reverse light connector, pilot bearing, isolator mount, installation hardware, and detailed instructions with lifetime technical support.
The T56 Magnum uses friction-lined synchronizer blocker rings for smooth high-RPM shifting and is available with an optional front shift kit for applications requiring additional bench seat clearance.
