Designed for 1955-1957 Chevrolet Tri-Five applications, this TREMEC TKX 5-Speed Conversion Kit provides modern manual transmission performance for Bel Air, 150, 210, and Nomad models. The TKX offers an ideal combination of strength, street manners, and overdrive cruising capability.
The TREMEC TKX features a compact rounded case design, 600 lb-ft torque capacity, and the ability to handle 7,500 rpm shifts. This transmission improves highway cruising with reduced engine RPM, improved fuel economy, lower operating temperatures, and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness.
The TKX is available with multiple shifter positions to accommodate different interior configurations. Classic Fit provides an on-center shifter location for bucket seat applications, Mid Shift supports bench seat vehicles, and Side Offset matches existing 4-speed floor locations.
The TKX gear ratios include a wide ratio option with 3.27, 1.98, 1.34, 1.00, and 0.72, or a close ratio option with 2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.00, and 0.68 or 0.81 overdrive options.
The conversion kit includes the required components for installation, including the TREMEC TKX 5-Speed overdrive transmission, bellhousing, McLeod flywheel, McLeod clutch, pedals, transmission support crossmember, driveshaft and slip yoke, speedometer connection, reverse light connector, pilot bearing, isolator mount, installation hardware, and detailed instructions with lifetime technical support.
