This PerfectFit™ conversion kit upgrades classic Ford vehicles with a modern 5-speed overdrive transmission designed for improved cruising comfort, reduced RPM, and dependable street performance.
Vehicle Configuration Required

The TREMEC TKX features a compact rounded case design while providing up to 600 lb-ft of torque capacity and the ability to handle high-RPM shifting. Designed for everyday street use, the TKX provides a balance of performance, durability, and improved drivability for classic Mustang and Cougar builds.
Available gear ratio configurations include wide ratio and close ratio options. The wide ratio version features 3.27, 1.98, 1.34, 1.00, and 0.72 gears. Close ratio options include 2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.00, and either 0.68 or 0.81 fifth gear depending on configuration.
The complete conversion kit includes the TREMEC TKX 5-speed overdrive transmission, heavy-duty pilot bearing, installation hardware, isolator mount, reverse light connector, speedometer connection compatibility, crossmember, driveshaft and slip yoke, clutch alignment tool, and detailed installation instructions.
For automatic-to-manual conversions, additional components may be required including flywheel, clutch assembly, bellhousing, dust cover, hydraulic clutch components, clutch pedal components, shifter components, and related installation hardware.
Driveshafts are not included with every order and may be purchased separately depending on application requirements. Verify engine combination, clutch system, and drivetrain configuration before ordering.
