Designed for 1971-1974 Mopar B-Body platforms, this TREMEC TKX 5-Speed Conversion Kit provides modern manual transmission performance for vehicles including Charger, GTX, Road Runner, Satellite, and Super Bee models. The compact TKX transmission provides excellent strength while maintaining improved drivability for classic Mopar builds.
The TREMEC TKX features a compact rounded case design, 600 lb-ft torque capacity, and the ability to handle 7,500 rpm shifts. This transmission delivers modern overdrive capability with reduced engine RPM, improved fuel economy, lower operating temperatures, and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness.
The TKX is available with wide ratio and close ratio gear sets. Wide ratio gearing includes 3.27, 1.98, 1.34, 1.00, and 0.72. Close ratio gearing includes 2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.00, and 0.68 or 0.81 overdrive options.
The PerfectFit™ kit includes the required components for installation, including the TREMEC TKX 5-Speed overdrive transmission, STX Shifter® with true offset for factory-correct shifter placement, crossmember, speedometer connection, reverse light connector, pilot bearing, isolator mount, installation hardware, and detailed instructions with lifetime technical support.
Optional components are available for automatic-to-manual conversions, including flywheel, clutch kit, bellhousing, hydraulic clutch components, pedals, shifter components, tunnel hump, and driveshaft upgrades depending on vehicle configuration.
