Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 5970789 OER 1979-1981 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta Fuel Filler Door with Hinge Spring and Bracket for restoring the rear fuel filler area on late second generation Camaro Berlinetta models. This reproduction fuel door is designed specifically for Berlinetta applications and includes the hinge spring and bracket for a more complete installation.
This Berlinetta fuel filler door features the correct mounting holes for the fuel filler door emblem and includes the chrome horizontal molding used on Berlinetta rear tail panel trim. Original fuel doors commonly become bent, rusted, loose, misaligned, damaged at the hinge, painted over, or missing after decades of use, repaint work, and rear body repairs.
Because the fuel door sits directly in the visual center of the rear tail panel, poor fitment or missing trim is easy to spot. Replacing this assembly helps restore proper rear panel alignment, smoother fuel door operation, and the distinctive Berlinetta rear appearance.
