This Screaming Chicken LED footwell-lighting kit adds driver- and passenger-side courtesy lighting to applicable 1996-2002 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird models.
Designed specifically for the fourth-generation F-body electrical system, this complete kit provides a cleaner, more integrated installation than universal LED strips and generic wiring kits.
The footwell lamps automatically illuminate when a door is opened. After the doors are closed, the lights fade off with the vehicle’s courtesy-lighting system, creating an operation and appearance similar to a factory-installed interior feature.

The lamp assemblies install beneath the driver- and passenger-side dashboard areas to illuminate the front footwells without placing visible lighting components in the main passenger compartment.

Select the desired light color before ordering.
Each kit produces one fixed light color. These are not RGB or color-changing lamps, and the color cannot be changed with a remote control, switch or mobile application after installation.
Automatic Courtesy-Light Operation
The footwell lamps operate with the vehicle’s door-activated courtesy-lighting system:
- Open either door and the footwell lamps illuminate
- Close the doors and the lamps fade off automatically
- Both front footwells are illuminated
- No separate on/off switch is required for normal operation
The application-specific harness is precut and enclosed in protective loom to reduce wiring preparation and provide a cleaner finished installation.
This kit does not work with 1993-1995 Camaro or Firebird models. Those vehicles use a different electrical configuration and require a different application-specific lighting solution.
Installation Information
The lamps mount beneath the dashboard using the supplied 3M VHB adhesive tape. The included adhesion promoter helps prepare the lamp-mounting areas for reliable attachment.
Before installation:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s battery
- Clean the lamp-mounting surfaces
- Remove dirt, dust, oil and interior protectant residue
- Plan the harness routing away from pedals and moving components
- Follow the included wiring instructions
- Confirm lamp operation before completing the installation
This is a new aftermarket accessory manufactured by Screaming Chicken. It was not installed by General Motors as original equipment.

What is included with the kit?
The kit includes two LED lamp assemblies, application-specific preloomed wiring, electrical connectors, 3M VHB adhesive tape, adhesion promoter and installation instructions for one vehicle.
Does the kit illuminate both front footwells?
Yes. It includes separate driver- and passenger-side LED lamps.
When do the lights turn on?
The lights illuminate when a door is opened and fade off automatically after the doors are closed.
Does the kit require a separate switch?
No separate switch is required for normal door-activated courtesy-light operation.
Can the lights change colors?
No. Each kit produces one fixed color. Choose Cool White, Blue or Red before ordering.
Is this an RGB lighting kit?
No. It does not use RGB LEDs and does not include a remote control, controller or mobile application.
Will it fit both Camaro and Firebird models?
Yes. It is designed for applicable 1996-2002 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird models, including Formula and Trans Am.
Will it fit coupe and convertible models?
Yes. The kit is compatible with applicable coupe, T-top and convertible models within the listed 1996-2002 range.
Will it work in a 1993-1995 Camaro or Firebird?
No. Screaming Chicken specifically excludes 1993-1995 models from this kit’s fitment.
Is this original GM equipment?
No. This is a new application-specific aftermarket lighting kit designed to provide an OEM-style appearance and operation.
