This new reproduction alternator support brace is designed for the F-Body accessory-drive layout used on 1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird LS1 engines.
It provides an application-specific service part for replacing damaged, missing, corroded or stripped original rear alternator support brace components while preserving factory-style accessory spacing.

Alternator, main alternator bracket, mounting hardware, pulley and belt are not included.
F-Body Accessory Spacing
LS accessory drives are not universally interchangeable. Confirm the engine uses the 1998-2002 F-Body bracket and pulley alignment before ordering.
Component-Specific Service
The brace supports the alternator/bracket assembly and should not be confused with the main alternator mounting bracket.
Complete Drive Inspection
Check the related accessory, pulley, belt, threaded holes and adjoining supports. Replacing one part cannot correct damage elsewhere in the system.
- Allow the engine to cool and disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Photograph the accessory-drive layout and belt routing before disassembly.
- Support or remove the affected accessory according to the factory service procedure.
- Compare the replacement component with the original and confirm the F-Body LS1 accessory spacing.
- Inspect adjoining brackets, threaded holes, pulleys and belt alignment before assembly.
- Install the component in the factory-style position and follow the applicable tightening sequence and torque specifications.
- Reinstall the belt and verify pulley alignment, clearance and free rotation.
- Reconnect the battery, start the engine and inspect the complete drive for noise, vibration or tracking problems.
What engine is this for?
The 5.7L LS1 using the compatible 1998-2002 F-Body front accessory layout.
Will it fit every LS swap?
No. LS accessory spacing varies; the conversion must use the compatible F-Body configuration.
Is it a used GM part?
No. It is a new reproduction.
