Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS Front Bumper, Hood, Roof, Rear Deck and Spoiler Stripe Kit, Phoenix Graphix 9800SS.
Designed specifically for the fourth-generation Camaro SS body configuration, this coordinated stripe package covers the front bumper, SS hood, roof on solid-roof coupe models, rear luggage compartment and rear spoiler. The SS-specific hood sections distinguish this package from the Phoenix Graphix 9800C stripe kit intended for standard Camaro and Z28 hood contours.
Phoenix Graphix offers separate configurations for solid-roof coupe and convertible or T-top vehicles. The coupe package includes two roof stripes for a continuous front-to-rear appearance. The convertible and T-top package omits the roof stripes while retaining the front bumper, SS hood, rear luggage-compartment and rear spoiler graphics.
The kit is available in Hugger Orange, black, white, silver, red and gold. Phoenix Graphix uses 9800SS as the base part number and adds the selected model and color designation when the specific variation is ordered.

IMPORTANT PRODUCT DISTINCTION
Phoenix Graphix 9800SS contains stripe sections shaped for the Camaro SS hood and rear spoiler configuration.
It is not intended for:
- Base Camaro models with the standard hood
- Camaro Z28 models with the standard hood
- Phoenix Graphix 9800C non-SS applications
- 1993-1997 Camaro body panels
- 1996-1997 Camaro SS models
- Vehicles without the applicable SS hood and spoiler contours
Customers with a 1998-2002 standard Camaro or Z28 should use the separate Phoenix Graphix 9800C stripe package. Phoenix Graphix lists 9800C for Camaro and Z28 applications and 9800SS specifically for SS models.
ANNIVERSARY PACKAGE DISTINCTION
Phoenix Graphix 9800SS should not be described as a factory 30th or 35th Anniversary graphics package.
The Phoenix Graphix catalog separately identifies:
- 1997SS: 1996-1997 Camaro SS and 1997 30th Anniversary SS stripe kit
- 0235TH: 1998-2002 Camaro 35th Anniversary-style decal and stripe kit
- 9800SS: 1998-2002 Camaro SS stripe kit
Hugger Orange is available as a color choice for 9800SS, but selecting that color does not make this product a 30th Anniversary package.

INSTALLATION NOTES
Unroll and inspect every stripe section before beginning installation. Confirm the following before applying any graphic:
- Correct vehicle application
- SS hood configuration
- Correct body-style package
- Correct stripe color
- Complete kit contents
- Left- and right-side orientation
- No shipping damage
Phoenix Graphix recommends applying automotive graphics indoors or in a shaded, dust-free and wind-free environment between 70°F and 90°F. Do not install the stripes in direct sunlight. Fresh paint should cure for a minimum of three days before graphics are applied.
Thoroughly clean all application surfaces and remove:
- Wax
- Polish
- Silicone
- Grease
- Oil
- Dirt
- Old adhesive
- Detailing-product residue
Establish and mark the vehicle centerline before positioning the front bumper and hood stripes. Temporarily lay out the complete stripe package before applying final pressure.
For solid-roof coupe applications, align the front bumper and hood sections with the roof, rear luggage-compartment and spoiler stripes. A small error at the front of the vehicle can become increasingly visible as the stripes progress toward the rear.
Apply each section to its individual body panel. Do not stretch the vinyl across bumper, hood, windshield, hatch or spoiler gaps.
Professional installation is recommended because the stripe package crosses several body panels and requires consistent spacing and centerline alignment.
Phoenix Graphix advises against applying wax directly over the finished vinyl graphics because wax can degrade their appearance over time.
