Product Description:

Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 330-2801 GM Small Block Chevy 7/16" Flywheel Bolt Kit for Tilton Flywheel, 12-Point, ARP for Chevy V8 applications using a compatible Tilton flywheel. This Pro Series kit includes six 7/16"-20 x 0.875" underhead-length flywheel bolts with a flat 12-point head, black oxide finish, and no washers. The bolts use a 1/2" socket and are specifically designed for the Tilton flywheel application.

When you're bolting a Tilton flywheel to a small-block Chevy, this is exactly the kind of hardware you want to see going into the crank flange. Six properly sized ARP Pro Series bolts are a lot better choice than digging through the hardware drawer hoping something has the right thread and length. The larger-than-stock shank and flat 12-point head give a serious engine build the kind of purpose-built hardware that belongs behind a high-performance small-block.

ARP lists the 330-2801 as a Pro Series flywheel bolt for Chevy V8 engines with a Tilton flywheel. The bolts are forged from aerospace alloy, heat-treated before thread rolling and machining, and use a 7/16"-20 thread with a 0.875" underhead length. ARP's current catalog rates Pro Series flywheel bolts at 190,000 psi.

  • Bolts use a 7/16"-20 RH thread and have a 0.875" underhead length.
  • Use a 1/2" socket for installation.
  • ARP specifies Loctite 242 on the bolt threads and ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant under the bolt head for installation.
  • Install the flywheel and tighten the bolts hand-tight before final torque.
  • Torque the bolts in an alternating or crisscross pattern to 85 ft-lbs using the lubricants specified by ARP.
  • Do not substitute washers under these bolt heads.
  • Verify crankshaft, flywheel, bolt diameter, thread pitch, and bolt length before installation.
  • Test-fit the complete assembly before final torque.
