Overview
The Morimoto Backup Light Boost Bar is designed to mount directly to US-spec license plate mounting points. Its optical-grade polycarbonate lens produces a focused beam pattern designed specifically for reverse-light applications, providing a more useful spread of light than a standard clear lens. The light bar features a powder-coated die-cast aluminum housing with an IP69K-rated design for protection against water and dust intrusion. The satin-black housing is contoured to follow the shape of a standard US license plate for a clean, flush appearance.Compatibility

Installation
The Morimoto Backup Light Boost Bar bolts directly to the vehicle's top two license plate mounting points. The housing is designed around the geometry of a standard US-spec license plate for a clean, flush fit. When used with Morimoto XB LED Tail Lights equipped with the Backup Light Boost connection, the LED700 can connect directly to the reverse-light circuit for a plug-and-play installation. For vehicles without the Backup Light Boost connection, the included 1.5-meter integrated wiring and power tap kit can be used to connect the light bar to the factory reverse-light circuit. An integrated rubber grommet is also included to help seal the wiring pass-through when necessary.Detailed Description
The Morimoto LED700 Backup Light Boost Bar was engineered to provide substantially more useful reverse lighting than a typical replacement LED bulb. Instead of simply increasing the brightness of the factory reverse-light location, Morimoto designed the LED700 around a dedicated optical system to control how the light is distributed behind the vehicle. The 45 CREE J Series 2835 LEDs produce 2,700 raw lumens, with approximately 1,950 effective lumens after the light passes through the optical lens. The 4500K output and 80 CRI rating provide a bright, natural-looking light for improved visibility while reversing. Morimoto's optical engineering team developed the lens to produce a focused beam pattern based on typical mounting angles. At a 0-degree mounting angle, the light provides a vertical spread of -30° to +15°. At a 10-degree mounting angle, the vertical range is approximately -20° to +25°. The die-cast aluminum housing is finished in a satin-black powder coat and designed for durability in exterior automotive applications. The optical-grade polycarbonate lens is UV-coated, while the internal electronics use a copper PCB and epoxy-sealed construction.What's Included
