Basic Kit Configuration:
This is SST's Basic Kit and includes only the essential components required for the transmission upgrade. It is designed for experienced builders who are capable of fabricating or modifying their own crossmember and transmission tunnel hump.
Designed for 1958-1964 GM B-Body applications, this TREMEC Magnum 6-Speed Conversion Kit fits Chevrolet Impala, Bel Air, Biscayne, Pontiac Bonneville, Grand Prix, and Catalina models.
The TREMEC Magnum 6-Speed provides modern performance with a 700 lb-ft torque capacity, double overdrive gearing, and improved highway drivability. The upgrade reduces cruising RPM, decreases engine wear, improves fuel economy, lowers operating temperatures, and reduces noise, vibration, and harshness.
The TREMEC Magnum features multiple gear ratio options including wide and close ratio configurations. Available ratios include 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, 0.80, and 0.63 or 2.97, 2.10, 1.46, 1.00, 0.80, and 0.63.
The Basic Kit includes the TREMEC T56 Magnum 6-Speed double overdrive transmission, slip yoke, speedometer connection, reverse light connector, pilot bearing, isolator mount, installation hardware, and detailed installation instructions with lifetime technical support.
