Designed for 1964-1967 GM A-Body applications and 1964-1972 B-O-P vehicles (excluding 1970-1972 Cutlass models with console), this TREMEC TKX 5-Speed PerfectFit™ Kit provides modern manual transmission performance for Chevelle, Tempest, GTO, El Camino, LeMans, Skylark, 442, Cutlass, Beaumont, and Special models.

The TREMEC TKX is one of the most compact modern 5-speed transmissions available, featuring a rounded case design, 600 lb-ft torque capacity, and the ability to handle 7,500 rpm shifts. The TKX provides an ideal balance of strength and street manners while improving highway cruising with reduced RPM, improved fuel economy, and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness.

The PerfectFit™ design modifies the TKX transmission to provide a factory-correct shifter position, allowing classic GM vehicles to maintain a clean interior appearance while gaining modern overdrive capability.

The TKX supports both mechanical and hydraulic clutch actuation options and can be converted between systems by removing only a few bolts without requiring transmission teardown.

The TKX gear ratios include a wide ratio option with 3.27, 1.98, 1.34, 1.00, and 0.72, or a close ratio option with 2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.00, and 0.68 or 0.81 overdrive options.
