MANUAL TRANSMISSION APPLICATION ONLY
This TREMEC TKX PerfectFit™ Kit is intended for vehicles that are already equipped with a manual transmission and are upgrading from an existing 3-speed or 4-speed manual setup. This is not a complete automatic-to-manual conversion kit. Vehicles originally equipped with an automatic transmission will require additional conversion components and should use the appropriate automatic conversion package.

Designed for 1968-1972 GM B-O-P A-Body manual transmission applications, this TREMEC TKX 5-Speed Kit fits Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac platforms including Cutlass, Skylark, GS, 442, GTO, Tempest, and LeMans models.
The TREMEC TKX is one of the most advanced compact 5-speed manual transmissions available, offering a rounded case design, 600 lb-ft torque capacity, and the ability to handle 7,500 rpm shifts. The TKX provides improved highway performance through overdrive gearing, reduced engine RPM, improved fuel economy, lower operating temperatures, and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness.
The TKX is available with multiple gear ratio configurations to match different driving styles. Wide ratio gearing includes 3.27, 1.98, 1.34, 1.00, and 0.72. Close ratio gearing includes 2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.00, and 0.68 or 0.81 overdrive options.
The PerfectFit™ kit is engineered to provide a factory-style installation and includes the required components for manual transmission upgrades, including the TREMEC TKX 5-Speed overdrive transmission, STX Shifters® with factory-correct offset positioning, pilot bearing, installation hardware, isolator mount, reverse light connector, speedometer connection, driveshaft and slip yoke, and detailed installation instructions with lifetime technical support.
