The SST A41 4L60E Automatic Conversion Kit provides a modern overdrive transmission solution for Chevrolet and GMC C-Series pickup trucks. Designed for 1973-1987 Squarebody trucks, this kit replaces older automatic transmissions with electronically controlled 4-speed overdrive technology for improved drivability, lower cruising RPM, and improved highway performance.
The A41 4L60E platform delivers smooth shifting, electronic transmission control, and multiple torque capacity options for street-driven trucks, performance builds, and upgraded drivetrains. Available in three stages supporting up to 450 lb-ft, 550 lb-ft, or 650 lb-ft of torque, this system can be configured to match a wide range of engine combinations.

The SST A41 4L60E conversion kit is a basic builder's kit. Cutting and/or fabrication may be required during installation depending on the vehicle configuration, engine combination, and existing drivetrain components.
TECHNICAL OVERVIEW
The A41 4L60E transmission provides a modern 4-speed automatic upgrade for classic Chevrolet and GMC trucks. With a 0.70:1 overdrive fourth gear, this transmission reduces engine RPM during highway cruising while maintaining improved acceleration through its electronically controlled shift strategy.
The A41 transmission features gear ratios of 3.06:1 first gear, 1.63:1 second gear, 1.00:1 third gear, and 0.70:1 fourth gear. Compared to older transmissions such as the Powerglide, TH350, TH400, 200R4, 700R4, and other non-overdrive units, the A41 provides modern electronic control, improved shift quality, and approximately 30% lower cruising RPM.
The included COMPUSHIFT Sport controller allows complete adjustment of shift points, shift feel, and torque converter clutch operation. Programming can be completed through Android and iOS devices, tablets, computers, or Macs using Bluetooth connectivity and included software.
