This PerfectFit™ conversion kit upgrades classic GM four-wheel-drive trucks and SUVs with a modern 5-speed overdrive transmission designed for improved off-road control, highway drivability, and dependable performance.

Designed for 1973-1987 Chevrolet and GMC K-Series 4WD applications, this TREMEC TR-4050 conversion kit provides improved drivetrain capability for Square Body trucks and SUVs including K-Series pickups, K5 Blazer, Jimmy, and Suburban applications.
The TR-4050 features a 6.16:1 first gear and 6.03:1 reverse gear for improved low-speed control during off-road driving and trail use. The 0.76:1 fifth gear overdrive helps reduce engine RPM during highway cruising, providing improved comfort for longer drives.
Rated for up to 600 lb-ft of torque, the TR-4050 is designed for a variety of classic truck builds including restoration projects, towing applications, LS engine swaps, and performance upgrades. The transmission features helical-cut gears, a die-cast aluminum housing, internal multi-rail shifting, tapered bearings, needle bearings, and advanced synchronizer technology.
The conversion kit includes the brand-new TREMEC TR-4050 5-speed overdrive transmission, pilot bearing, hardware, crossmember mount template, rubber transmission isolator mount, reverse light wiring pigtail, and installation instructions.
Optional automatic-to-manual conversion components may include a McLeod flywheel, McLeod clutch, bellhousing kit, hydraulic clutch conversion kit, shift linkage components, shifter handle options, shift knob options, STX® short-throw shifter, and required fluids.
Every TR-4050 transmission is supplied new and is not rebuilt or remanufactured. Verify engine combination, transfer case, and drivetrain configuration before ordering.
