Replace the worn or damaged driver-side exterior door handle on your second-generation F-body with this OER reproduction. Designed for 1976–1981 Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, Formula, and Trans Am models, this left-hand outer door handle features a bright chrome finish for a clean, factory-style appearance.
After four to five decades of use, an original exterior door handle can become loose, scratched, pitted, or difficult to operate. The internal spring and moving portions of the handle also experience wear every time the driver’s door is opened. Because the driver’s door is normally used more frequently, its exterior handle is often one of the first door components to show significant mechanical and cosmetic wear.
This handle is an excellent choice for repairing driver-side damage, replacing a mechanically worn handle, or correcting mismatched exterior trim.
A repaint is also an ideal time to replace the exterior door handle. Removing the old handle before paint preparation allows the door surface beneath it to be properly prepared and painted. Installing the new chrome handle after the paint has cured produces a clean finish without visible tape-off marks, old outlines, or rough overspray edges.
NOTE: These new door handles CAN be painted to custom builds, or to simply color key to your car.
