Designed for 1978-1988 GM G-Body applications, this TREMEC Magnum 6-Speed PerfectFit™ Kit provides modern manual transmission performance for Buick Regal, Chevrolet El Camino, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, GMC Caballero, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Cutlass Cruiser, Cutlass Salon, Pontiac Bonneville, and Pontiac Grand Prix models.
The TREMEC T56 Magnum 6-Speed features a double overdrive design with 700 lb-ft torque capacity, making it an ideal upgrade for street performance vehicles requiring increased strength, improved cruising ability, and modern transmission technology.
When converting to the TREMEC T56 Magnum 6-Speed, drivers experience lower cruising RPM, improved fuel economy, reduced engine wear, cooler operating temperatures, reduced noise vibration harshness (NVH), and improved long-distance driving comfort.
The T56 Magnum is available with wide and close ratio gear sets. Wide ratio gearing includes 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, 0.80, and 0.63. Close ratio gearing includes 2.97, 2.10, 1.46, 1.00, 0.80, and 0.63.
The PerfectFit™ kit includes the required components for installation, including the TREMEC T56 Magnum 6-Speed double overdrive transmission, QuickTime bellhousing, hydraulic clutch actuator kit, crossmember, sheet metal modifications, driveshaft and slip yoke, speedometer connection, reverse light connector, reverse lockout, pilot bearing, isolator mount, installation hardware, and detailed instructions with lifetime technical support.
This kit is designed for conversion from an existing manual transmission setup and provides factory-correct shifter positioning, compatibility with factory exhaust routing, and optimized driveline angles.
