Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1996-1997 Chevrolet Camaro SS Stripe Kit with 1997 30th Anniversary Hugger Orange Option, Phoenix Graphix 1997SS.
Restore the distinctive center-stripe appearance of a 1996-1997 Camaro SS or recreate the iconic graphics used on the white 1997 Camaro SS 30th Anniversary model. This application-specific package uses hood stripes shaped for the raised Ram Air-style SS hood, distinguishing it from the standard Camaro, RS and Z28 stripe package.
The graphics continue across the front bumper, SS hood, roof on coupe models, rear luggage compartment and rear spoiler. Phoenix Graphix reproduces the stripe shapes from original OEM components using high-performance automotive-grade 2-mil cast vinyl.
For a factory-style 1997 30th Anniversary restoration, select the Hugger Orange version. Phoenix Graphix states that this orange is specifically printed to match the original OEM Hugger Orange color rather than being cut from generic orange vinyl. Black, white, silver, red and gold versions are also available for custom color combinations.
Phoenix Graphix offers separate packages for coupe and convertible/T-top body configurations. Coupe kits include two roof stripes. Convertible and T-top kits omit the roof sections while retaining the front bumper, SS hood, rear deck and rear spoiler stripes.

Phoenix Graphix explicitly states that the 1997SS package fits 1996 Camaro SS models in addition to the primary 1997 application.
IMPORTANT PRODUCT DISTINCTION
Phoenix Graphix 1997SS includes hood graphics shaped for the Camaro SS hood.
It is not intended for:
- Base Camaro models with the standard hood
- Camaro RS models with the standard hood
- Camaro Z28 models with the standard hood
- Phoenix Graphix 9730TH non-SS hood applications
- 1998-2002 Camaro SS models
Customers with a 1993-1997 Camaro, RS or Z28 using the standard non-SS hood should select Phoenix Graphix 9730TH instead. Phoenix Graphix catalogs 9730TH with non-SS hood stripes and 1997SS with SS-specific hood stripes.
30TH ANNIVERSARY RESTORATION NOTE
The original-style 1997 Camaro 30th Anniversary appearance combines an Arctic White exterior with Hugger Orange center stripes. Phoenix Graphix identifies its Hugger Orange selection as the OEM-color restoration option and prints the color specifically for a closer factory match.
The 1997SS kit may also be installed on a compatible 1996 Camaro SS, but that does not make the vehicle an authentic factory-produced 1997 30th Anniversary model.
PART-NUMBER CONFIGURATION
Phoenix Graphix uses 1997SS as the base product number. The ordered part number also incorporates the selected body-style and color designations.
Examples include:

Confirm the vehicle body style and selected color before submitting the order.
INSTALLATION NOTES
Unroll and inspect all stripe sections before beginning installation. Confirm the body-style configuration, color and kit contents before applying any graphic.
The painted surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of:
- Wax
- Polish
- Grease
- Silicone
- Oil
- Old adhesive
- Detailing-product residue
Establish and mark the vehicle centerline before positioning the front bumper and SS hood stripes. Temporarily lay out the complete package to verify stripe spacing and alignment across each adjoining body panel.
For coupe applications, align the front bumper and hood sections with the roof, rear luggage-compartment and spoiler stripes before applying final pressure. An alignment error at the front of the vehicle will become more visible as the stripes progress toward the rear.
Apply each stripe to its individual panel. Do not stretch the vinyl across hood, windshield, hatch or spoiler openings. Carefully trim the graphics at panel gaps when required.
Professional installation is recommended because the package crosses multiple panels and requires precise centerline alignment around the raised SS hood contours.
