Product Description:

Hawks Motorsports is pleased to offer our clients the following K&N NextGen Cold Air Intake System for the 2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro SS with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 engine, part #50-3092.

K&N designed this vehicle-specific NextGen intake to reduce airflow restriction while improving induction sound and engine-bay appearance. Its large-diameter, CAD-designed intake tube and oversized filter provide a less restrictive path than the original intake system without requiring an aftermarket engine tune.

K&N testing recorded an estimated increase of 25.25 horsepower at 4,643 RPM, 30.35 lb-ft of torque at 2,992 RPM and a 21.6% increase in airflow. Testing was conducted on a stock 2020 Chevrolet Camaro SS 6.2L. Actual results can vary according to vehicle condition, modifications, fuel, atmospheric conditions and testing method.

NextGen Airbox Design

The hybrid, semi-enclosed airbox helps isolate the filter from engine-compartment heat while maintaining access to incoming fresh air. Its enlarged inlet is engineered to increase available airflow while helping protect the filter against engine-bay contaminants.

Unlike a fully exposed filter arrangement, the airbox surrounds the filter through critical areas while leaving the top accessible for inspection and servicing.

High-Flow Oiled Cotton Air Filter

Part #50-3092 uses an oversized K&N High-Flow Lifetime Air Filter with red oiled cotton-gauze media. The conical filter provides increased surface area and incorporates a radius-entry design intended to promote smooth airflow into the intake tube.

Under normal highway-driving conditions, K&N states that the filter can operate for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required. Actual service intervals will be shorter when the vehicle is driven in dusty, dirty or severe operating conditions.

The replacement filter is K&N part #RU-5303.

Large-Diameter HDPE Intake Tube

The black intake tube is manufactured from high-density cross-linked polyethylene. Its rotationally molded construction allows K&N to control the internal shape of the tube and incorporate strategically positioned channels that manage airspeed and airflow.

The molded tube also provides a factory-compatible appearance that complements the sixth-generation Camaro engine compartment.

Customers are responsible for checking applicable federal, state and local emissions regulations before purchasing or installing this product.

Installation Notes

K&N estimates that installation can normally be completed in less than 60 minutes using common hand tools.

Allow the engine to cool before beginning. Carefully remove the original intake system and transfer the required factory sensor and ventilation connections according to the K&N instructions. Make sure the airflow sensor is installed in the correct orientation.

Before starting the engine, confirm that every connection is secure and that the intake tube does not contact moving components, hot surfaces or sharp edges. After installation, start the engine and inspect for air leaks, warning lights or abnormal operating conditions.

Recheck all connections after the first few heat cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this intake require an engine tune?
No. K&N designed part #50-3092 to operate with the factory engine calibration.

What Camaro models does it fit?
It is cataloged for 2016-2024 Chevrolet Camaro SS models with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8.
