Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 991-KIT LS1/LS2/LS3/LS6 Corvette 8-Rib 10% Overdrive Conversion Kit with Damper, Innovators West. This complete accessory-drive conversion kit is designed for compatible Corvette LS1, LS2, LS3 and LS6 applications and converts the accessory drive to an 8-rib belt system while adding a 10% overdrive harmonic damper. The kit includes an SFI 18.1-rated harmonic damper along with the required accessory-drive pulleys and mounting components.

This is the kind of belt-drive upgrade that makes sense when you're starting to lean on an LS harder than GM ever intended. The 8-rib setup gives the belt more surface area to grab, and the 10% overdrive damper bumps blower speed without forcing you into an even smaller blower pulley. If you're building a blown Corvette and the factory 6-rib setup is starting to look a little light for the job, this is a serious step toward a more capable crank-to-accessory drive.

The kit uses an 843 8-rib 10% overdrive harmonic damper with an 8.125-inch diameter and includes the Corvette-specific power steering, alternator, idler and tensioner pulleys needed to complete the conversion. Innovators West lists the damper as exceeding SFI 18.1 standards.

• The 10% overdrive damper increases crank-driven accessory and supercharger speed.

• The damper uses a 3/16-inch keyway.
• A double-keyway option requires the crankshaft to be machined for a second keyway 180° from the original.
• Do not install a double-keyed damper on a crankshaft that has not been properly machined for the second key.
• The optional Super Duty Blower Hub is intended for high-power supercharged applications and includes a matching timing-cover seal. Innovators West recommends this option for applications making approximately 750+ rwhp.
• The optional underdrive alternator pulley is intended for high-RPM race applications and may cause charging issues at idle on street-driven vehicles.
• Use the proper harmonic damper installation tool.
• Follow Innovators West installation instructions and torque specifications.
• Verify all pulley clearances before starting the engine.
