Product Description:

Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1974-1981 Camaro Firebird Trans Am Medium Blue Foam-Backed Perforated Vinyl Headliner Material, Material Only, Acme 74-1513P-FBH6.

This replacement headliner material is designed for recovering a structurally sound original or replacement headliner board in a second-generation Camaro, Firebird, Formula or Trans Am. Acme identifies the FBH6 color as Medium Blue, while some material selectors abbreviate the shade simply as Blue.

The factory-style perforated vinyl surface provides a period-correct appearance for vehicles originally equipped with vinyl-style headliners. The attached foam backing creates the cushioned layer between the finished vinyl surface and the headliner board, helping restore an interior affected by faded, stained, torn, loose or deteriorated original material.

This listing includes the foam-backed perforated vinyl headliner material only. The headliner board, sun visors, visor brackets, roof moldings, mounting hardware and installation adhesive are not included.

Foam-backed perforated vinyl is listed across the 1974-1981 Camaro and Firebird headliner-board application range. However, some 1977-1981 Camaros equipped with cloth interiors originally used cloth headliner material. Verify the vehicle’s original interior material when factory-correct restoration is required.

INSTALLATION NOTES

Remove the headliner board from the vehicle before recovering it. Carefully strip away the old covering, deteriorated foam and loose adhesive without damaging the board.

The existing headliner board must be clean, dry and structurally sound. Repair cracks, damaged mounting areas or weakened edges before installing the new material.

Dry-fit and center the material before applying adhesive. Use a high-temperature automotive headliner adhesive compatible with foam-backed vinyl. Work gradually from the center toward the outer edges to reduce wrinkles, trapped air and uneven tension.

Do not excessively stretch the vinyl. Stretching may distort the perforation pattern, compress the foam backing or weaken the adhesive bond. Allow the adhesive to cure according to its instructions before trimming excess material or reinstalling the board.

Professional installation is recommended when the original board is brittle, warped, cracked or previously repaired. Colors shown on computer screens and mobile devices may differ from the actual material. Compare a physical sample with the vehicle’s existing trim when a close color match is required.
