Replace the worn or damaged passenger-side exterior door handle on your second-generation F-body with this OER reproduction. Designed for 1976–1981 Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, Formula, and Trans Am models, this right-hand outer door handle is manufactured from die-cast metal and features a gloss-black finish.
The black finish eliminates the traditional chrome appearance and provides a clean blackout treatment for factory-inspired restorations, custom builds, and pro-touring vehicles. The handle can also be properly prepared and painted to match the vehicle’s body color or custom exterior trim scheme.
After four to five decades of use, an original exterior door handle can become loose, scratched, faded, or difficult to operate. The internal spring and moving portions of the handle experience wear each time the passenger door is opened. Replacing a failing handle helps restore dependable passenger-door operation while improving the vehicle’s exterior appearance.
A repaint is an excellent time to replace the exterior door handle. Removing the old handle before surface preparation allows the door beneath it to be properly prepared and painted. Installing the replacement handle after the paint has cured provides a clean finish without visible tape-off marks, old outlines, or rough overspray edges.
