Restore the interior of your Third Generation Firebird or Trans Am with this complete ACC molded carpet package covering both the passenger compartment and rear hatch/cargo area.
Manufactured by ACC in the USA, this reproduction carpet is designed around the contours of the 1985-1992 Firebird floor and uses factory-style cut-pile carpet for an original-style appearance. The passenger-area carpet is molded to follow the transmission tunnel, footwells, seat area, and surrounding floor-pan contours for a more precise fit than universal flat automotive carpet.
This is the complete carpet package, combining the molded passenger-compartment carpet with the carpet required for the rear hatch/cargo area. It is an excellent choice for a complete interior restoration when the original carpet has become faded, stained, worn, damaged, deteriorated, or is missing.
Multiple carpet colors and backing configurations are available, allowing the carpet package to be tailored to the vehicle and the goals of the restoration.

STANDARD CARPET & PADDING
The standard configuration uses molded cut-pile carpet with jute insulation padding.
The carpet is formed to follow the contours of the Firebird floor pan while the jute provides an additional insulation layer between the carpet and vehicle floor.
OPTIONAL MASS BACKING
For customers looking for additional insulation and a more substantial carpet assembly, Mass Backing is available as an upgrade.
Mass Backing uses an approximately 45-mil EVA material bonded to the carpet and can provide:
- Additional sound control
- Additional thermal insulation
- Increased carpet body and structure
- Improved ability to retain the molded floor-pan shape
- A more substantial feel underfoot
Mass Backing is especially worth considering during a complete interior restoration when the original carpet and interior components have already been removed.
ATTACHED OR LOOSE JUTE PADDING
Hawks offers a choice in how the jute insulation padding is supplied.
Attached Padding:
The jute padding is attached to the carpet for a conventional installation.
Loose Padding:
The jute insulation is supplied separately from the carpet. Keeping the padding separate during the molding process allows the carpet to be formed more precisely against the floor-pan mold.
During installation, the loose jute padding is positioned on the floor first, followed by the molded carpet.
CONSOLE CUTOUT OPTIONS
Select the appropriate console cutout configuration when ordering to match your Firebird's interior.
Because these carpets are pre-molded replacement components, the complete carpet should always be test fitted in the vehicle before final trimming or permanent installation.
CARPET COLOR OPTIONS
Multiple interior carpet colors are available to complement factory-style Third Generation Firebird interiors.
For 1988-1989 Firebird and Trans Am models equipped with a Beechwood interior, Hawks has found that Medium Doeskin provides the closest available carpet-color match.

INSTALLATION NOTES
This is a pre-molded reproduction carpet set, but final fitting is required during installation.
Completely position and test fit the carpet before making permanent cuts or alterations. Final trimming around edges, seat locations, console areas, interior trim, and other openings may be required for the individual vehicle.
If loose jute padding is selected, position the padding on the vehicle floor before final installation of the molded carpet.
Do not make permanent cuts until the carpet is correctly centered, positioned, and test fitted.
