Restore the passenger compartment of your Third Generation Firebird or Trans Am with new molded replacement carpet manufactured by ACC.
Designed specifically for 1982-1984 Pontiac Firebird applications, this reproduction carpet uses factory-style cut-pile material and is molded to follow the major contours of the original floor pan and transmission tunnel. It provides a more original-style fit and appearance than universal flat automotive carpet.
This is the passenger-area carpet only. It covers the front and rear passenger floor areas but does not include the separate rear hatch/cargo-area carpet. It is an excellent choice when the passenger-compartment carpet is faded, stained, worn, damaged, or missing while the existing cargo carpet remains serviceable.
The carpet includes attached sound-deadening jute padding, a correct-style driver-side heel pad, and factory-style stitching. Multiple carpet colors are available to complement the original Third Gen Firebird interior.

STANDARD BACKING
The standard carpet is supplied with original-style backing and attached sound-deadening jute padding.
The jute provides an additional insulation layer between the molded carpet and vehicle floor while helping reproduce the construction of the original-style carpet assembly.
OPTIONAL MASS BACKING
An optional Mass Backing upgrade is available for customers looking for additional insulation and a more substantial carpet assembly.
Mass Backing uses an approximately 45-mil EVA material and provides:
- Additional sound insulation
- Additional thermal insulation
- Increased carpet body and structure
- Improved ability to maintain the molded floor-pan shape
- A more substantial feel underfoot
Mass Backing is optional and is not required for installation.
NO PRE-CUT INTERIOR OPENINGS
This carpet is supplied without pre-cut interior openings.
This allows the installer to position and test fit the molded carpet in the individual vehicle before making the necessary openings for seats, console components, seat belts, trim, and other interior components.
Always completely position and test fit the carpet before making permanent cuts.

INSTALLATION NOTES
Although the carpet is pre-molded to follow the major floor-pan contours, final fitting and trimming are required during installation.
Position and center the complete carpet before making any permanent alterations. Openings for seats, seat belts, console components, trim, and other interior components should be made only after the carpet has been properly positioned and test fitted.
Some final edge trimming may also be required for the individual vehicle.
