This ACC molded cut-pile replacement carpet is designed for 1994-2002 Pontiac Firebird, Formula and Trans Am convertibles. It features a center-console split and a lightweight configuration with separate jute insulation padding.
Unlike the factory-style mass-backed version, this carpet does not have heavy bonded mass backing. The lighter construction is easier to handle during installation while retaining the molded shape required for the fourth-generation Firebird convertible floor pan.
The package includes:
- One-piece molded passenger-compartment carpet
- Convertible-specific floor-pan shape
- Center-console split
- Standard lightweight carpet backing
- Separate lightweight jute insulation padding
- Selected carpet color
Floor mats and factory-style mass backing are not included.
Model-Year Clarification
Although the original product name and SKU use “93-2002,” the fourth-generation Firebird convertible entered production for the 1994 model year. This carpet should therefore be treated as a 1994-2002 convertible application.
It is not intended for a 1993 Firebird because the 1993 model was not produced as a factory convertible.
Lightweight Carpet Configuration
This version uses ACC’s standard lightweight carpet construction with separate jute padding rather than bonded mass backing.
The lightweight configuration offers:
- Less weight than the mass-backed version
- Easier handling and positioning during installation
- Separate jute padding for basic cushioning and insulation
- A lower-cost alternative to factory-style mass-backed carpet
Because it does not include the heavier bonded backing, it may provide less added structure, heat control and sound reduction than the mass-backed version.

Convertible-Specific Carpet Pattern
This carpet is molded for the floor-pan contours of fourth-generation Pontiac Firebird convertibles.
Convertible and coupe floor configurations are not interchangeable. This part does not fit Firebird, Formula or Trans Am hardtop and T-top coupes.
The molded carpet covers the front and rear passenger-compartment floor area. It does not include a coupe-style rear hatch deck carpet or separate cargo-area mat.
Console-Split Design
The center section is split to simplify positioning around the factory center console.
The console, seats, interior trim panels, sill plates and related components must be removed or loosened as required during installation. The carpet is intentionally supplied with additional material around its perimeter and openings so it can be trimmed to the individual vehicle.

These year ranges are selection guidance rather than a guarantee of an exact match to every original interior.
Carpet color can differ from aged factory material because of fading, wear, cleaning products, previous replacement and variations in lighting or screen settings. Request a physical carpet sample before ordering when an exact color comparison is important.

Final fitment depends on selecting the correct body style and properly positioning and trimming the carpet during installation.
Carpet Construction
The carpet is heat- and pressure-molded to reproduce the general contours of the original convertible floor pan.
The separate jute insulation padding installs beneath the carpet. It is not permanently bonded to the carpet and can be positioned according to the floor-pan contours and clearance requirements.
A separate molded driver-side heel pad is not included with this application.

Installation Information
Professional installation is recommended.
Before trimming, remove the original carpet and inspect the floor pan for rust, moisture, damaged seam sealer or sharp edges. Complete necessary floor repairs before installing the new carpet.
During installation:
- Allow the carpet to relax in a warm environment
- Test-fit the carpet before making cuts
- Position the separate jute padding first
- Establish the centerline and transmission-tunnel position
- Align the molded contours with the floor pan
- Position the console split beneath the center console
- Mark seat, seat-belt, shifter and trim openings from the vehicle
- Make small cuts and enlarge them gradually
- Confirm pedal clearance on the driver side
- Trim the outer edges only after final positioning
- Reinstall the seats, console, sill plates and trim securely
Do not use the removed carpet as the only trimming template. Interior openings and mounting locations should be confirmed directly from the vehicle.
Reproduction Information
This is a newly manufactured ACC replacement carpet. It is not used, New Old Stock or an original GM carpet assembly.
Differences in color, texture, backing, molded definition and padding may exist when compared with aged original carpeting.
